Secretary of State Jesse White Announces Opening of New
Lockport Driver’s Express Facility

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White announced the grand opening of a new express facility in south suburban Lockport. The express facility, which mainly provides driver’s license and plate renewal, is scheduled to open Tuesday, June 24.

“With significant commercial and residential development in the south suburbs and the expansion of I-355, there was greater demand for a local facility,” Secretary White said. “I am pleased we are creating new facilities and enhancing existing ones to continue meeting and serving our customers needs.”

Services provided at the new Lockport facility include:

  • CDL renewal and vision screening
  • Driver’s license renewal and vision screening
  • Organ donor registry
  • State ID renewal card
  • Temporary disability placards, first time issuance and replacement
  • Voter registration applications.

Although this express facility will be an added convenience for many, drivers can still visit one of the full service facilities in Aurora, Joliet and Naperville.

The new facility, which is located at 1029-1031 East 9th St., will be open Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – noon. The facility is closed Sunday and Monday.
