Internet Access Services

Public Internet Workstations

Public Internet workstations are provided in the Reference Room at the Illinois State Library on the second floor. Access to Internet workstations is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Before using the Internet, users are asked to sign in at the Reference Desk. Except for state employees conducting state business, individual sessions are limited to one hour. The Illinois State Library requires that library patrons using computer equipment and Internet resources do so within the guidelines of acceptable use.

Wireless Internet Access (WiFi)

The State Library also offers free wireless Internet access (WiFi). In order to use WiFi at the State Library, you will need to bring your own laptop computer to the library, and it will need to have built-in WiFi or you will need to install a WiFi network adapter.
