Illinois Authors Wiki
The Illinois Authors Wiki is a project of the State Library's Illinois Center for the Book. It is a comprehensive resource for information on authors, photographers and illustrators who have published books and have lived in Illinois or written about Illinois.
Illinois Authors on the State Library Building
The exterior of the State Library building is highlighted by a frieze etched with the names of 35 of Illinois' most distinguished authors. These 35 authors were either Illinois natives or whose works are closely identified with the Prairie State.
Illinois Authors Reading Room
On the south end of the State Library's first floor is the Illinois Authors Reading Room. Display cases in this room house an extensive collection of works by Illinois authors, many of which are first editions or signed copies.
