NEW TEMPORARY VISITOR DRIVER’S LICENSE (TVDL) FOR UNDOCUMENTED (NON-VISA STATUS) INDIVIDUALS
On January 27, 2013, the governor signed Senate Bill 957 into law allowing non-visa status individuals to obtain a temporary visitor driver’s license (TVDL). In December 2013, non-visa status applicants will begin the process of obtaining a TVDL. Appointments are required. Please review the required documents in the links provided prior to your appointment. The goal of the office is to ensure the program is implemented in a way that improves traffic safety, underscores the importance of driver's license integrity and security, and provides the highest level of customer service.
Effective July 1, 2014 or after, a person age 18-20 must present proof of successful completion of a 6-hour adult driver education and training course.
The Secretary of State’s Office began accepting appointments for the Temporary Visitors Driver’s License (TVDL) for Undocumented (Non-Visa Status) Individuals on November 12. Applicants may make an appointment through this web site or by calling 855-236-1155.
