Family History Resources in IRAD
Many of the county, township, and municipal government records collected by IRAD offer a rich source of information on our ancestors. The following list suggests some of the ways in which various types of IRAD records may be used by family historians. Please note that IRAD does not hold all of these types of records for every Illinois county. To find which records IRAD does hold for a particular county, search the
IRAD Local Governmental Records database. If IRAD does not have the records for which you are searching, contact the appropriate county office.
The Illinois State Archives does hold death certificates from 1916
1947 maintained by the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois Public Domain Land Tract Sales records.
