The Board of Examiners of Structural Engineers was created in 1915 with members appointed by the Governor (L. 1915, p. 432). It was responsible for the examination and licensing of structural engineers practicing in the State of Illinois. The board was abolished by the Civil Administrative Code of 1917 and its powers and duties were transferred to the newly created Department of Registration and Education.
